How we prepare every Re-Nou piece before it reaches you
At Re-Nou,
we want vintage and preloved to feel just as clean, safe, and reliable as buying something new — only more thoughtful. Every piece is carefully cleaned, refreshed, and prepared so it arrives ready to wear with confidence.
Because you cannot touch a piece before buying online, we believe in being transparent about how we care for our garments.
Here’s how we prepare each category.
Blouses (Cotton, Viscose, Silk)
Cotton & viscose are machine-washed with gentle detergent, with buttons checked and secured. Silk is carefully hand washed with mild soap to keep it fresh & soft.
Knitwear
Natural fibres such as wool, cashmere, and mohair are hand washed according to the label. Synthetic blends are machine washed when safe to do so.
Leather Jackets & Coats
Leather is cleaned with specialised leather cleaner, then nourished with balm.
Small scratches are repaired and the leather is conditioned so it remains soft and strong.
Blazers
Blazers are aired, lightly cleaned, and steamed to restore their shape. Linings are wiped and small repairs are done by hand. Larger fixes are handled by a professional tailor.
Wool Trousers
Because wool is naturally self-cleansing, trousers are usually aired and refreshed with a damp cloth. If needed, they are gently hand washed.
Jackets (Spring & Winter)
Many jackets can be machine washed on a gentle cycle. Stains are treated beforehand, and loose stitching is repaired by hand.
Coats (Wool, Cashmere, Blends)
Coats are carefully inspected for moth damage before sourcing. To refresh them, we air them for several days, secure buttons, and make small repairs. When needed, we freeze or steam them as an extra precaution.
Shoes
We only select shoes in excellent condition. Leather is cleaned with saddle soap, nourished with balm, refreshed with colour when needed, and polished. Shoes are stored with stretchers to maintain their shape.
Bags
Leather bags are cleaned, conditioned, and the colour is refreshed when necessary. We select pieces with minimal wear so they retain their beauty and durability.
